The importance of physical fitness, fun and social cohesion cannot be over emphasized in our ever busy world of today: hence the Ex Navy Boys Abeokuta, Abuja Alumni Chapter in a bid to create an atmosphere of physical fitness, fun and network- played a friendly football match with 4GS Football Club Saturday at the Junior Secondary School, Kado Kuchi, Opposite Next Cash And Carry, Abuja-FCT to mark its 2024 Sports Day with the theme: Fitness and Fun.
The fun-filled friendly match which kicked off at exactly 9:05 am, ended after the combined total play time of 90 minutes allowed with 4GS football team scoring 9 goals against Ex Navy Boys’ 6 goals to emerge the Winner of the friendly football match amidst thunderous applauses; as the referee blew the final whistle signalling the end of the football match!
According to one of the players on the side of Ex Navy boys’ who doubles as the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the prestigious alumni association, Mr Ugo Uyana: ” the friendly match was meant to primarily mark the association’s 2024 Sports day, bring its members together to engender physical fitness, fun and atmosphere of conviviality, look for ways to better the lots of its members by inaugurating co-operative investment as well as to contribute to corporate social responsibility uplifting others, he stressed further that in the next few years the alumni association must have achieved a lot owing to the caliber of its members in various fields of endeavour- who are already impacting the society!
Coach of 4GS football team, Mr Umar Cheche expressed joy that his team won the friendly match, he stated that he is optimistic that within his team, super stars and international players will soon emerge”.
The friendly match recorded impressive large turn out of reputable Ex Navy boys’ alumni, supporters, students and spectators alike.
Highlights were the inauguration of the alumni’s Co-operative Investment Committee, group photographs, networking and entertainments.
