This Thursday at 10:05pm, NTA International and the Network service of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) will air a documentary that is already drawing attention in political and public circles.

At the centre of it is His Excellency, Most Distinguished Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio, GCON, Senate President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, a figure whose journey continues to draw attention and debate.
Titled The Untold Secrets of Uncommon Transformer Revealed, the documentary takes a steady, deliberate look at a path many have followed from a distance, but perhaps not closely enough.
Akpabio has, over time, described himself in his own words as a son of nobody. It is a phrase that has stayed with his public persona, not as a slogan, but as a reflection of how he frames his rise.
From his early days as commissioner in Akwa Ibom State to his years as governor, and later his movement through the Senate and the federal cabinet, the documentary revisits key moments without flattening them into routine history. Akpabio jettisoned his presidential ambition and the decision to step down alongside other contenders in support of Bola Ahmed Tinubu, a move that quietly altered his political trajectory.
His re-entry into the Senate and eventual emergence as President of the Senate of Nigeria is God’s will!. What stands out is how the documentary leans into the turns, the pauses, and the moments that could easily be overlooked.
It does not try to over-explain. It allows the story to unfold, and in doing so, keeps the viewer watching, listening, and thinking.
For anyone who has followed his rise from the sidelines, this offers something more. For those who have only heard fragments, it brings the pieces together in a way that holds attention.
Thursday, 10:05pm on NTA International and NTA Network (NTA).
