Former Deputy Senate President, Ovie Omo-Agege, has spoken on his decision to seek a return to the Senate, laying out a plan he said is driven by service, experience and a clear focus on the needs of his people.
He said his comeback bid is rooted in what he described as a long-standing commitment to public service, adding that the experience he has gathered over the years, along with relationships built across the country, would count in giving his district stronger representation.
Omo-Agege pointed to the place of the Urhobo nation in the wider national space, saying there is a need to push it back into clear visibility through deliberate engagement and steady representation at the centre.
On the economy, he said his priority would be to draw federal attention to the district while opening doors for both local and foreign investors. He noted that job creation remains a pressing concern, especially for young people and women, and said practical steps would be taken to create opportunities that can support livelihoods.
He also spoke of working closely with colleagues in the National Assembly and aligning with both federal and state authorities, saying progress would come from coordinated effort rather than isolated action.
His move comes as political activity continues to gather momentum for the next round of elections, with familiar figures and new entrants alike stepping forward with their plans for representation.
