The Senate has confirmed Joseph Tegbe as Minister of Power and Sola Enikanolaiye as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs after considering a request forwarded by President Bola Tinubu.
The two nominees were screened by the upper chamber in line with constitutional provisions before their confirmation during plenary presided over by Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
Tegbe’s nomination followed the exit of former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, who resigned to pursue elective office. An indigene of Oyo State, Tegbe brings over three decades of experience in fiscal policy and economic reform across the public and private sectors. He previously served as Senior Partner and Head of Advisory Services at KPMG Africa, where his work covered policy reforms, institutional strengthening and governance.
Enikanolaiye was confirmed as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs after his nomination to fill the position following recent changes in the ministry. He had been serving as Senior Special Assistant to the President on Foreign Affairs and International Relations before the nomination. A native of Kogi State, he is a career diplomat with more than 30 years in Nigeria’s foreign service.
