Governorship aspirant, Dr. Jamil Isyaku Gwamna, has officially submitted his expression of interest and nomination form ahead of the 2027 Gombe State governorship election, pledging to sustain and expand the developmental achievements recorded by the current administration.
Speaking with journalists shortly after submitting the documents at Treasure Suite in Abuja, Jamil said his decision to join the race was motivated by a commitment to consolidate on the progress already made in the state.
“I’m here to formally submit my nomination form to the Secretariat,” he stated, confirming his ambition to contest for the state’s top seat.
The aspirant praised past and present leaders of Gombe State, describing the state as fortunate to have experienced purposeful leadership over the years.
He particularly commended the incumbent governor for transforming the state’s development landscape.
“Currently, the governor we have has put Gombe State on a new pedestal in terms of development. We are very proud of what he has achieved,” he said.
Jamil stressed that continuity would remain central to his administration if elected, noting that sustaining the ongoing developmental momentum would require dedication and strategic leadership.
“It is a big challenge to sustain that developmental stride and continue with it. I hope that, given the chance, I will build on what he has done,” he added.
On issues surrounding internal party arrangements, the governorship hopeful expressed confidence in the party’s leadership and pledged to abide by its decisions regarding the selection process.
“Whatever the party decides,” he said when asked about his position on internal party dynamics.
