The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) party has postponed its House of Representatives primary election ahead of the 2027 general elections, moving the exercise to Saturday, May 16, 2026.

In a statement issued in Abuja on Thursday, the party said the adjustment affects only the House of Representatives primary, while the timetable for other primaries remains unchanged.

Under the revised schedule, Senate primaries will hold on Monday, May 18, followed by State House of Assembly primaries on Wednesday, May 20. Governorship primaries are slated for Thursday, May 21, while the presidential primary will take place on Saturday, May 23, 2026.

The APC did not state reasons for the change but assured members and aspirants that every other date on the election timetable remains valid.
