By George Ozalla

Former Deputy Senate President and former Governorship Candidate for Delta state in the 2023 general election, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, CFR, KSJI , has declared victory in the Delta Central Senatorial District primary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), describing the outcome as a clear and overwhelming mandate from delegates across the district.
In a press statement issued on Monday, 18 May 2026, Omo-Agege expressed appreciation to leaders, delegates and members of the party for what he called their steadfast support and strong turnout during the senatorial primary election.
He stated that based on collated results from all 85 wards across the 8 local government areas of Delta Central, he emerged with a decisive victory. He added that voting across the senatorial district reflected what he described as open expression of support from party members at ward level.
According to him, the outcome goes beyond personal ambition, representing a collective endorsement of efforts to strengthen the APC in Delta Central and improve representation at the national level. He further stated that he was humbled by the confidence placed in him and commended the conduct of delegates, noting that the process reflected unity, discipline and order within the party structure.
Omo-Agege said with the primary concluded, attention now shifts to the general election, stressing the need to consolidate internal unity and mobilise across all wards. He stated that the objective is to secure the senatorial seat for the APC and ensure Delta Central delivers for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the presidential election scheduled for the same day.
He also referenced the directive of the National Organising Secretary of the APC, noting that the party was awaiting official declaration by the National Headquarters in Abuja. He urged members to remain calm, united and focused as collation and formal announcement processes are completed.
Omo-Agege further stated that the mandate belongs to every APC member in Delta Central who stood for fairness, cohesion and progress within the party. He added that the development reinforces his commitment to sustained engagement with party structures and continued mobilisation across the district ahead of the general election.
