Former Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development and renowned businessman, Dr. Uchechukwu Sampson Ogah, has celebrated his elder brother, Professor Okechukwu S. Ogah, on the occasion of his birthday, describing him as an exceptional scholar, accomplished cardiologist and a source of pride to the Ogah family, Abia State and Nigeria.
Dr. Ogah, who served in the administration of former President Muhammadu Buhari and is the President of Masters Energy Group, said his elder brother’s remarkable achievements in medicine, academia and public service have earned him respect both within and outside Nigeria.
In a statement made available to News Master, the former minister praised Professor Ogah’s unwavering commitment to excellence, noting that his career has positively impacted countless lives across Africa and beyond through quality healthcare, research and mentorship.
The statement further noted that Professor Ogah has attained global recognition as one of Africa’s leading cardiologists and recently emerged as Chair of the Pan-African Society of Cardiology (PASCAR) Heart Failure Task Force, a position through which he continues to champion improved cardiovascular healthcare across the continent.
It added that the celebrant has distinguished himself as Professor of Cardiology at the University of Ibadan, Honorary Consultant at the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, and former Commissioner for Health in Abia State, where he made significant contributions to the health sector.
According to Dr. Ogah, his elder brother’s life remains a shining example of discipline, hard work, integrity and selfless service, inspiring younger generations to pursue excellence and dedicate themselves to the service of humanity.
He prayed for God’s continued protection, sound health, wisdom and greater accomplishments for the celebrant, expressing confidence that the years ahead would bring even greater opportunities for him to make lasting contributions to medicine and national development.
