Nigeria at 66: Nwankwor Calls for Renewed Faith in Greater Nation

By NEWSCOUNT Desk

APGA candidate for Orumba North and South Federal Constituency, Dr. Odiraa Nwankwor, has called on Nigerians to renew their faith in the country and remain committed to building a nation where citizens can live, work and prosper.

Nwankwor made the call in his Independence Day message to Nigerians as the country marks its 66th Independence Anniversary on Thursday, October 1, 2026.

He warmly felicitated with Nigerians at home and abroad, particularly the people of Orumba North and South Federal Constituency, saying the anniversary provided an opportunity for Nigerians to reflect on the country’s journey and appreciate the sacrifices made by those who came before them.

According to him, Independence Day should not only be about celebrating Nigeria’s freedom, but should also remind citizens of the responsibility to contribute to the building of a better country.

“Our journey as a nation has come with challenges, but Nigeria remains a country of remarkable people, enormous talent and great possibilities,” Nwankwor stated, adding that the strength of the country lies in the resilience, creativity and determination of its people.

He stressed the need for Nigerians to continue to promote unity, justice, accountability, peaceful coexistence and inclusive development, particularly at a time when the country is working to improve the lives of its citizens.

Nwankwor further stated that greater attention should be given to creating opportunities for young people, strengthening education and healthcare, supporting agriculture and enterprise, and building an economy where hard work can translate into a better standard of living.

He noted that the responsibility for building the Nigeria that citizens desire should not be left to government alone.

“Government has its role to play, but citizens, communities, professionals, business owners, traditional institutions, religious leaders and the younger generation all have important parts to play in shaping the future of our country,” he said.

The APGA candidate maintained that Nigeria’s progress would require greater cooperation and purposeful leadership, while urging citizens to retain their faith in the country’s capacity to overcome its challenges.

He said he remained confident that with greater cooperation, purposeful leadership and a renewed commitment to the country, Nigeria could make meaningful progress and take her rightful place among the leading nations of the world.

Nwankwor also celebrated the Nigerian spirit and extended his warm wishes to Nigerians on the Independence anniversary, praying that the country would continue to grow in peace, unity and prosperity.

“Happy 66th Independence Anniversary, Nigeria,” he said.
