Chukwu Named Tinubu Campaign Council Deputy for South-East Youths

By NEWSCOUNT Desk

The National Youth Leader of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) and Chairman of the Forum of National Youth Leaders of Political Parties in Nigeria, Hon. Comrade Eze Onyebuchi Chukwu, has been appointed Deputy Director of Youth Mobilisation, South-East Zone, of the PBAT/APC 2027 Presidential Campaign Council.

Chukwu will deputise Chief Obinna Iyiegbu, popularly known as Obi Cubana, in mobilising young people across the South-East in support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.

The appointment places Chukwu in the campaign structure of the All Progressives Congress (APC) while he retains his position as APGA National Youth Leader. He also heads the forum that brings together national youth leaders of political parties in Nigeria.

His appointment was announced as preparations for the 2027 presidential election gather pace, with the APC building its campaign structure across the country.

President Tinubu on Wednesday, October 14, inaugurated the APC Presidential Campaign Council at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, with senior government officials, party leaders and other political figures named to coordinate the re-election campaign.

Tinubu chairs the council, with Vice-President Kashim Shettima and APC National Chairman, Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, serving as first and second vice-chairmen. Former Zamfara State Governor Abdulaziz Yari was named Director-General, while Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma will serve as secretary.

Other prominent members of the campaign leadership include Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas and several governors and party chieftains assigned to different directorates.

The council is expected to coordinate campaign activities, political mobilisation, media engagements and election planning ahead of the 2027 poll.

Speaking at the inauguration, Tinubu charged members to work for victory at the grassroots, telling them that their assignments would not be complete until they delivered votes in their respective wards.

The President also said campaigning would not distract him from the responsibilities of his office, stressing that governance must receive the attention it requires even as the council coordinates the party’s activities in the states and local government areas.

The inauguration was followed by plans for the campaign’s formal rally in Kaduna on October 24, ahead of further engagements in other parts of the country.
