The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has received a significant boost with the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, approving the promotion of 51 Deputy Corps Commanders to Corps Commanders and 49 Assistant Corps Commanders to Deputy Corps Commanders.
This landmark promotion exercise, approved on behalf of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, is a testament to the Corps’ commitment to excellence, professionalism, and strategic leadership. The SGF commended the Corps leadership for maintaining objectivity and professionalism in the exercise, which was based on transparency and merit.
The newly promoted officers were urged to rededicate themselves to the Corps’ mission of eradicating road traffic crashes and promoting a safer motoring environment. The SGF emphasized that the promotion exercise reflects the current administration’s commitment to rewarding excellence, diligence, and hard work.
FRSC Corps Marshal, Shehu Mohammed, congratulated the promoted officers, reminding them that with higher ranks come higher responsibilities. He encouraged them to uphold the highest standards of discipline, service, and integrity in their duties. The Corps Marshal also extended words of encouragement to those not promoted, assuring them that their efforts will not go unnoticed in future exercises.
The promotion is seen as a major boost to the FRSC’s human capital development drive and leadership structure, reinforcing its commitment to enhancing staff welfare and achieving its strategic goals and safety mandate.
