A recent surge in cult-related violence has left several people dead and families grieving in Idemili North and South, particularly in Ogidi town, sparking widespread concern. Hon. Uchenna Harris Okonkwo, Member of the House of Representatives representing Idemili North and South Federal Constituency, has extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims.
According to Hon. Okonkwo, “No community should have to endure such needless bloodshed. I assure the affected families that I will continue to work with security agencies and relevant stakeholders to ensure that justice is served, while also seeking avenues for restitution to support those left behind.”
Hon. Okonkwo urged residents to reject violence and cultism, embracing peace, unity, and progress in Idemili. “Our future is far greater than the path of destruction,” he emphasized, calling on stakeholders to join hands in promoting peace and stability in the constituency.
The lawmaker prayed that God would grant the souls of the departed eternal rest and give the bereaved families the strength to bear their painful loss. He reiterated his commitment to collaborating with security agencies to bring perpetrators to justice and support affected families.
