President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, has inaugurated the All Progressives Congress Convention Subcommittee on Programmes and Events, charging members to ensure thorough planning and effective coordination for the party’s forthcoming national convention.
The inauguration ceremony brought together key party officials and members of the subcommittee who have been tasked with designing and coordinating activities expected to take place during the convention.
Akpabio, while addressing the committee members, urged them to approach their assignment with diligence and a strong sense of responsibility, noting that the programmes and events committee occupies a central position in the successful organisation of the national convention.
He stressed that the committee’s work would shape the flow of activities throughout the convention and determine how effectively the gathering reflects the strength and unity of the party.
The Senate President also advised members to work closely with other convention committees to ensure seamless coordination and avoid overlaps in responsibilities, adding that teamwork and proper planning would be critical to delivering a successful convention.
Members of the committee expressed appreciation for the confidence reposed in them and assured the party leadership of their commitment to carry out their responsibilities with dedication.
They pledged to put in place the necessary arrangements that would guarantee a well organised and hitch free convention capable of projecting the organisational capacity of the party.
The All Progressives Congress has begun preparations for its national convention through the constitution of various committees responsible for different aspects of the event as part of efforts to strengthen internal structures and consolidate unity within the party.
