Sen.Akpabio Commends NDDC For Massive Projects

The Senate President, Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio, on Friday, while attending the Niger Delta Stakeholders Summit in Port Harcourt has called on various stakeholders in the Niger Delta region to lend massive support to the Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, to achieve more developmental projects in the region.

The Summit, being organized by the Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC in Port Harcourt, Rivers State Capital, assembles the people of the Niger Delta and key policy experts to formulate strategies and come up with a roadmap for economic growth and more development of the Niger Delta region.

The well attended Summit has its theme as ‘Renewed Hope for Sustainable Development of the Niger Delta region’.

Former President Goodluck Jonathan who was also in attendance chaired the occassion, Governors from the oil producing region, members of the National Assembly, Ministers and former governors, interest groups from the region and other Stakeholders.

The Senate President, Senator Akpabio who hails from the Niger Delta region also represented President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as the Special Guest of honour as well as himself in dual capacity.

Senator Akpabio in his remark commended the Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC for the new development initiatives in the region which has led to the commissioning of turnkey projects in the past few weeks.

Akpabio further commended the board and management of the Commission for working towards the realization of the Renewed Hope Agenda of the Tinubu led Government and called for the support of various stakeholders for the Commission to increase its developmental strides in the region.

The Managing Director of the NDDC, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, highlighted the Summit’s significance as he listed the achievements of the NDDC under his leadership and the plans to further develop the Niger Delta region, pointing out that the agency was not competing with state governments but rather complementing their various roles in developing the region.
