The Honorable Minister of Arts, Culture, and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musawa, has launched the 54th Art and Culture Summit on Monday, 26th August 2024 in Abuja.
Representatives from all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory were present along side key stakeholders in culture, arts, creative industry and by extension tourism space as the Honorable Minister set out the tone for several policies, plans, fire side chat and panel discussions.
Each segment was robustly dissected and presented; charting the way forward for cultural and arts revival which will in turn create job opportunities and contribute to the nation’s GDP and unity.
Musawa who later introduced new initiatives and cultural elements vital for promoting peace, unity, integrity, creativity, entrepreneurship, and connectivity across the length and breadth of Nigeria in line with Mr President’s patriotic agenda.
“These initiatives were in sync with the broader goals of NAFEST and other national cultural celebrations, paving the way for all inclusive and expanded Nigeria’s cultural revival”. Musawa stated.
Highlights of the summit included far reaching technical sessions, deliberations and the adoption of the format and syllabus for major national cultural events, such as the National Festival for Arts and Culture NAFEST and the International Arts and Crafts Expo, group photographs and unity dance entertainment.
Concrete conclusions arrived at the Summit is expected to be crucial for the successful planning and execution of MEFA, Nigeria’s Got Talent, Innovation Creativity and Entrepreneurship, Origins, and the Creative Leap Accelerated Programme the Hon Minister remarked while fielding questions from newsmen at the event.
Key stakeholders, various State Commissioners and Directors from the 36 States Councils for Arts, Culture, and Creative Economy/History and Culture Bureau, the FCT Council for Arts, Culture, and Creative Economy, related parastatals, and the media, actively participated at the well attended Summit.
