Speech By Hon. Uchenna Harris Okonkwo As The Annie Okonkwo Foundation Launches the Dreams to Degree Initiative, Gives Scholarship to 150 Students in Anambra state.

Ladies and gentlemen, distinguished guests and dear friends.

Today is a day filled with purpose, hope, and remembrance. As we gather to launch the Dreams to Degree Initiative, we are not just unveiling a project but carrying forward a legacy_a legacy of compassion, empowerment, and commitment to the people of Anambra State.

This initiative is born out of the heart and vision of the Annie Okonkwo Foundation, established in loving memory of my father, Senator Annie Okonkwo. My father was a man who believed deeply in the power of education to transform lives and uplift communities. He was a champion for the underprivileged and a firm advocate for creating opportunities that allow dreams to flourish. Through this foundation, we strive to embody his values and carry his torch of service forward.

The Dreams to Degree Initiative represents a critical step toward addressing a pressing need in our communities. The need to ensure that every young person, regardless of their background, has access to education and the resources they need to succeed. It is our answer to the challenges faced by many families who dream of a brighter future for their children but struggle to navigate the financial and systemic barriers that hinder their progress.

As we embark on this journey, we are reminded that the pursuit of education is not just about degrees but about unlocking potential, building confidence, and creating the leaders of tomorrow. It is about empowering the next generation to dream boldly and achieve greatly.

On behalf of the Annie Okonkwo Foundation, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has supported this vision, contributed to its realization, and stood by us as partners in this mission. Together, we are building more than a program; we are building hope, resilience and a better future for Anambra State.
Thank you.
