Commitment and dedication to people and causes are plausible.
There is a feeling of peace you experience when you know that someone believes in you and whatever noble aspiration you represent; a feeling of peace that engulfs you when you are convinced that an individual is totally sold out to you to watch your back and protect your interest.
We all want to be in that place where we have supporters because we don’t get to sweat both the little and big, particularly in our absence. What is troubling though is the unwritten code which we see play out where window–dressing, praise-singing, blindness, dumbness, and deafness are expected to be elements of loyalty. Any loyalty that demands the abrogation of critical thinking and honesty is manipulative and evil. If you cannot freely call just, that which is just because you are loyal to someone or a cause, you are an enabler of the travesty certain individuals view as loyalty today. You are also not to be trusted. Blind, hungry, and self-seeking loyalty contributes to where we are as humans.
Loyalty without freedom of thought and expression is detrimental to truth. Loyalty without the critical pride of dissent is a threat to the core of our humanity.
Loyalty without the will to be true and walk away in extreme and well deserving cases, is questionable. Who and what are you loyal to? Why? What is your definition of loyalty? How do you intend to deploy loyalty in promoting that which is right, just, fair, worthy of emulation, and demonstrably whole. Loyalty is so powerful that it has the potential to make or mar. Your loyalty is your pride; it is a currency. What do you stand for?Are you loyal to them because you share a certain affinity? Is it because they represent a worthy cause and play fairly? Could it be that you are loyal because of your selfish interest?
