The origins of this special day date back to the 3rd century when Saint Valentine, a Christian martyr, risked his life to perform secret marriages, defying Emperor Claudius II’s ban on nuptial ties.
Over time, Valentine’s Day has evolved into a global celebration, with people showering their loved ones with gifts, flowers, and affectionate messages. However, in recent years, the true essence of this day has been lost in the midst of immorality, frivolity, and decadence.
As we celebrate Valentine’s Day, it’s essential to remember that true love is not just about romantic gestures or physical intimacy. Rather, it ought to be chiefly about mutual respect and understanding, trust, commitment, and selflessness. It’s also about embracing the values of Saint Valentine who was matryed for his strong belief and passion, who really sacrificed his precious life for the sake of love and relationships.
