UK-based immigration lawyer and gospel minister Dr George Amadi was my guest on the Law Times Podcast at Forthright Chambers in Abuja. I explored his thoughts on Nigeria’s ‘Japa’ syndrome and how he combines his law practice with his role as the pastor of one of the fastest-growing multicultural churches in London.
Dr. Amadi has been a tremendous source of support for me over the years. He played a significant role in helping me through difficult times as classmates at the Faculty of Law at the University of Benin. Years ago, he even offered to relocate me to the United Kingdom, believing I was struggling too much in Abuja. Despite his generous offer, I embraced life’s challenges in Nigeria, never imagining that I could thrive in a place with fewer problems than my home country.
Our meeting ended on a light-hearted note as we sang his favourite UNIBEN song, “Who’s Gonna Tell the Child about Jesus? Who’s Gonna Tell the Child about God?”
I genuinely believe that no one achieves success alone. Dr. George, I want you to know how grateful I am!
