In view of the forthcoming November 8 governorship election in Anambra state, former Governor of Anambra State and former Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige has shown support for incumbent Governor Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo.
Ngige made the endorsement during the 3rd Town Hall meeting with Anambra state indigenes resident in Abuja FCT, he humorously quoted, “I came, I saw, and I confirmed, Soludo has performed well.” He further playfully concluded by saying: Soludo “Carry Go”!
Chief Olisa Metu, former PDP National Publicity Secretary while speaking described Governor Soludo as “the best of the best” due to his developmental strides”.
Simon Okeke, former Chairman of the Police Service Commission, praised Soludo on his achievements so far and promised to help attract investors to the state.
Also speaking, one of foremost Anambra born industrialists, Chief Emeka Offor, appealed to Anambra people to support Soludo’s passion for real development and sustainability.
Excited Governor Soludo took enough time amidst cheers and applauses to explain his administration’s achievements, including implementing five pillars of development agenda, reducing cost of governance by 80%, as well as planning three smart cities in Awka, Onitsha, and a new city across the Niger River. He encourages wealthy businessmen from Anambra to invest in the state and revealed plans to redesign the old Governor’s Lodge into a modern ICT hub. He also stated that plan is on-going to get a Chinese firm to build intracity railway infrastructure in the state to enhance transportation.
Soludo reiterated that his administration has exceeded promises made during the last election, despite the state’s development needs. He lamented that some communities within the state still lack tarred roads, making his government to construct numerous roads in spite of limited resources.
Soludo’s administration has recorded progress in various sectors, including security, healthcare, education, road projects and youth empowerment. Solution expressed joy that Anambra is steadily progressing under his administration, with brighter prospects and he is poised to seek for second term to consolidate on the already existing pillar of achievements for betterment of Ndi Anambra!
The event attracted large number of guests, including top Anambra State cabinet members.
