Ikot Ekpene Hosts PSC Induction Programme

Ikot Ekpene, Akwa-Ibom State – The serene city of Ikot Ekpene is set to host a three-day induction programme for Board members of the Police Service Commission, starting today, April 25th, 2025. The programme, designed to prepare the Board Members for the challenges of their new office, has drawn eminent Nigerians to the city.

The induction programme is expected to feature prominent figures, including Senator Mallam Madori Abdulhamad, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Police Affairs; Dr. Maurice Mberi, Permanent Secretary General Services, representing the Secretary to the Government of the Federation; and Prof. Alemika Etannibi, Professor of Criminology and Sociology of Law at the University of Jos.

The Special Guest of Honour, Senate President Dr. Goodwill Akpabio, will be represented by Deputy Senate President Dr. Barau Jibrin, CFR. The Inspector General of Police, IGP Olukayode Egbetokun, PhD, is also expected to attend.

The Chairman of the Commission, DIG Hashimu Salihu Argungu (rtd), mni, led the Members of the Board to Ikot Ekpene, arriving on Saturday. Other Board members in attendance include Hon Justice Paul Adamu Galumje, retired Justice of the Supreme Court; DIG (Bar) Frederick Taiwo Lakanu (rtd), fdc; and Honourable Justice Christine Dabup, retired Justice of the High Court.

A pre-induction dinner was held yesterday at the Four Points by Sheraton in Ikot Ekpene, heralding the programme.
