“Dr. Zacch Adedeji Shines Brighter”

Dr. Zacch Adedeji, Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), has received accolades for his exceptional leadership and Nigeria’s substantial contributions to the Commonwealth Association of Tax Administrators (CATA). The commendation was made during the 96th Management Committee Meeting of CATA held at Broadway House, London, on May 22, 2025.

Dr. Adedeji’s unwavering support for CATA and his commitment to advancing tax administration within the Commonwealth have earned him recognition from CATA’s Executive Director, Dr. Esther Koisin, and Chairman, Mr. Mahmad Noor. Nigerian officials, including the country representative and correspondent, were also praised for their instrumental role in supporting CATA’s secretariat.

As the immediate past President of CATA, Dr. Adedeji has played a pivotal role in shaping tax policies and promoting best practices globally. His leadership at FIRS has transformed Nigeria’s tax landscape, with notable achievements in tax revenue collection, tax system modernization, and promoting a culture of excellence within the organization.

Under Dr. Adedeji’s leadership, FIRS has exceeded its revenue targets, introduced innovative tax systems, and prioritized staff welfare. His commitment to tax reform and modernization has positioned Nigeria as a leader in tax administration, both within the Commonwealth and globally.
