President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has thrown his weight behind the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate in Anambra State, Evangelist Nicholas Ukachukwu, and his running mate, Senator (Dr) Uche Ekwunife. On Monday, Tinubu presented the APC flag to the duo at the State House in Abuja, signaling his full support and confidence in their ability to win the upcoming gubernatorial election of Anambra State in November this year.
As he handed over the flag, Tinubu charged Ukachukwu to “go and get me Anambra,” emphasizing his determination to see the party emerge victorious in the state. “We are going to work with you. We are going to stand with you come rain come shine. That is all I can assure you. The party is supreme, but victory is superior and very important,” the President remarked.
Tinubu applauded the party leadership for their efforts during the gubernatorial primary in April and commended the choice of Senator Ekwunife as Ukachukwu’s running mate, describing her as a “round peg in a round hole.” He expressed confidence in the duo’s ability to deliver a victory for the party, noting that they have been described as “giant killers.”
The flag presentation ceremony was attended by prominent APC members, including National Chairman Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, APC Governors’ Forum Chairman Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State, and Chief of Staff to the President Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila.
With the party flag in hand, Ukachukwu and Ekwunife are now set to take on the challenge of winning the Anambra State governorship election, backed by the support of Mr President and APC leadership.
