The Member representing AMAC/Bwari Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Joshua Chinedu Obika, has strongly condemned the ongoing strike by LEA primary school teachers in the Federal Capital Territory. According to Hon. Obika, the strike is a clear indication of the need for the government to prioritize education and healthcare in the FCT.
Hon. Obika expressed concern that the strike would further disadvantage students and hamper the progress of education in the territory. He called on the relevant authorities to take immediate action to resolve the strike and ensure that students are not further affected.
According to Hon. Obika, education and healthcare are critical sectors that require urgent attention and investment. He emphasized that the government must prioritize these sectors to ensure that citizens have access to quality education and healthcare services.
The lawmaker’s call for prioritization of education and healthcare comes on the heels of his efforts to promote quality education in the FCT. Hon. Obika has distributed modern teaching gadgets and cash to secondary school principals in the constituency to enhance teaching standards. He has also commissioned a 20-capacity WAEC standard ICT laboratory at GSS Orozo, AMAC FCT, in partnership with Ofon Essential Global Foundation.
Hon. Obika’s commitment to improving the education sector is evident in his actions, and his condemnation of the LEA strike is a call to action for the government to prioritize education and healthcare in the FCT.
