Former Governor of Anambra State and Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has thrown his weight behind the party’s gubernatorial candidate, Dr. George Muoghalu, ahead of the November 8 governorship election in Anambra State.
Obi, who was accompanied by Senators Victor Umeh and Tony Nwoye, as well as Hon. Uchenna Okonkwo, declared his intention to contest the 2027 presidential election with “every serious intent.”
Speaking at the campaign flag-off event in Onitsha, Obi reaffirmed his commitment to the Labour Party and his support for Muoghalu’s candidacy.
Hon. Uchenna Okonkwo, who represents Idemili North and South Federal Constituency, expressed confidence in Muoghalu’s capacity to lead Anambra State, urging him to ensure an issue-based campaign throughout the electioneering period.
