“APC Elects New National Chairman”

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has elected Professor Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda as its new National Chairman, following the resignation of Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje. The election took place at the National Executive Council (NEC) meeting of the Party held at the Banquet Hall, Presidential Villa, Abuja, on July 24, 2025.

Professor Yilwatda, a prolific academic and governorship candidate of the APC in the 2023 gubernatorial election in Plateau State, brings a wealth of administrative, technical, and political experience to his new assignment. He previously served as the Honourable Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management, and Social Development.

The APC National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, congratulated the new National Chairman and prayed that God grants him wisdom and grace to lead the Party to greater heights. Professor Yilwatda’s background includes serving as Director of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) at the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi, and Resident Electoral Commissioner in Benue State between 2017 and 2021.

With his wealth of experience, Professor Yilwatda is expected to provide effective leadership to the APC, guiding the Party towards achieving its goals and objectives.
