The Anambra State Police Command has announced the arrest of John Chinagorom ‘M’, a suspected kidnapper who had been on their wanted list. According to a press statement signed by SP Tochukwu Ikenga, Police Public Relations Officer, Anambra State Police Command, the arrest was made possible through a collaborative effort with the Kaduna State Police Command.
The suspect was apprehended at his hideout in Zaria, Kaduna State, following a tip-off from credible intelligence received on August 1, 2025, by operatives of the Ozubulu Police Division. The suspect is linked to a kidnapping case reported on April 15, 2025.
A team of police detectives from the division was dispatched and successfully apprehended the suspect with the assistance of officers from the Kaduna State Police Command. The suspect is currently in custody and assisting the police with ongoing investigations.
The police have assured the public that the general security situation in the state remains calm, with joint security patrols and other crime prevention operations ongoing. Further developments in the case will be communicated in due course.
