NCC Congratulates Newly Appointed Chairman-Designate, Pledges Support for Nigeria’s Digital Economy

The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has extended congratulations to Mr. Idris Olorunnimbe, Chairman-designate of the Commission’s Board, and other distinguished board members, as well as the designate-members of the Universal Service Provision Fund (USPF) Board, following their appointment by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

In a congratulatory message posted on the NCC’s social media platforms, the Executive Vice Chairman of the NCC, Dr. Aminu Maida, expressed the Commission’s profound appreciation to President Tinubu for the appointments. Dr. Maida emphasized that the leadership team, comprising highly esteemed individuals with vast experience and impressive track records, is expected to steer the communications industry in the right direction and provide impetus for further transformation of Nigeria’s digital economy.

The NCC has pledged its commitment to working closely with its supervising Ministry and the Board to deliver on the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda for Nigeria’s digital economy. With their collective expertise, the board members are expected to bring strategic insight and strong governance to enhance the regulatory work of the Commission.

The appointments are expected to deepen broadband penetration, strengthen telecoms infrastructure, and address quality of service issues amid Nigeria’s fast-growing digital economy. The NCC looks forward to working with the new board members to achieve these goals and drive progress in the country’s digital economy.
