The Comptroller-General of Customs, Adewale Adeniyi, has reaffirmed the Nigeria Customs Service’s commitment to collaboration with agencies under the Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB). This was stated during a courtesy visit by the CDCFIB leadership to Customs Headquarters in Abuja on August 21, 2025.
Adeniyi highlighted existing partnerships, including shared facilities and operational cooperation. He cited examples of Immigration and Correctional Services personnel utilizing Customs facilities in Ibadan, Kano, and Bauchi.
The CDCFIB Secretary, Major General AbdulMalik Jibril (rtd), congratulated Adeniyi on his tenure extension and commended his contributions to Nigeria’s economy and security. Jibril emphasized the need to strengthen synergy and cooperation for national security, proposing deeper collaboration in training, recruitment, and operational support.
This partnership aligns with the federal government’s whole-of-society approach to security management, aiming to enhance national security through inter-agency cooperation.
