The All Progressives Congress (APC) Governorship Candidate for the November 8, 2025 election, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu (Ikukuoma) has expressed his desire to lift Anambra State from the present atmosphere of uncertainty and despair to a secure, peaceful and prosperous environment.
Addressing journalists at an interactive session in Awka, during the weekend, Ukachukwu noted with sadness that despite all the high hopes and great expectation Ndị Anambra had lived with in the last four years, they were faced with a brutish life of barefaced insecurity, leadership/governmental insincerity, disappointment and failure.
According to him, multiple layers of armed brigands under various guises christened ASTA, Aka-odo, tax masters, etc, have continued to plague the people’s sanity and peace,
such that no one is sure to return home with his or her limbs, cash and life any day in today’s Anambra State.
He promised to restore the lost glory of the state by tackling insecurity, revitalizing all sectors of the economy, and accelerating the development of all communities, especially along the lines of their comparative advantages.
He observed that Anambra is not working and urgently needs a transformative leadership with agenda, while promising all-inclusive security network, infrastructural development and general/massive sectoral economic growth.
“When elected, I will restore security and the confidence that Anambra was once known for within the first 90 days.
“I will attract our youths back home through industrial development and sustainable job creation and provision. I will fight criminalities, social vices, restiveness and insecurity with jobs provision”
“As insecurity has become the greatest threat to our state’s development and progress, such that our people are no longer returning home, and investors are scared to do business here, companies are not springing up because of fear and fear kills enterprise. We are coming very prepared,” Ukachukwu stated.
He further outlined his key priorities, including reliable electricity, agricultural transformation, and infrastructure renewal, even as he revealed plans to harness the state’s natural gas deposits to drive power generation, describing electricity as the engine room of economic development.
While promising a comprehensive upgrade of the health system, he pledged to establish a health centre in every community and a general hospital in each local government area, where highly qualified medical personnel would be engaged to ensure effective healthcare delivery across the state.
