The National Population Commission has issued a public notice warning the general public about fake Facebook accounts created in the name of its Chairman, Hon. Nasir Isa Kwarra. According to a press release signed by Amoo Azeez, Deputy Director of Public Affairs & Protocol, Office of the Chairman, dated 17th September 2025, some unscrupulous individuals have been using these fraudulent accounts to solicit contracts and engage in other nefarious activities, falsely claiming to represent the Chairman.
The public is advised to disregard any such requests or communications purportedly coming from Hon. Nasir Isa Kwarra through social media platforms, especially Facebook. The Commission has confirmed that these messages do not originate from the Chairman and has already begun taking steps to report and shut down the fake accounts. Efforts are also underway to identify and bring the perpetrators to justice.
The Chairman remains committed to transparency and due process in all official matters and urges everyone to remain vigilant against such acts of cyber impersonation. The public is cautioned to be wary of any suspicious messages or requests and to verify the authenticity of any communication purportedly from the Chairman or the Commission before responding or taking any action.
