Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the forthcoming Anambra election, has assured the people of Aguata Local Government Area of his commitment to good governance if elected.
Ukachukwu gave the assurance during the 2025 maiden Diocesan Convention of the Catholic Men Organization (CMO), which also featured the launch of the CMO–CADEK Integrated Farm Project at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Ekwulobia.
The APC flag bearer outlined his vision for a better Anambra, emphasizing security, poverty alleviation, and agricultural development. He disclosed plans to leverage artificial intelligence to boost agricultural value chains by connecting farmers with seed companies, infrastructure providers, and funding agencies to enhance productivity.
Ukachukwu also lamented that 12 industries in the state are currently shut down due to insecurity. “That is why I made insecurity my priority. Many no longer visit home because of fear, but I will ensure that insecurity is drastically reduced to encourage investors to partner with the state. We need to stop kidnapping, the sales of human parts, and make Anambra a liveable place,” he said.
In their separate remarks, the Diocesan Chaplain, Rev. Fr. Peter Nwankwo, and CMO President, Hon. Mathew Ezeilo, described the establishment of the integrated farm project as a step in the right direction. They explained that the project will house processing factories for garri, palm kernel, and other produce, alongside mechanised poultry, fishing, piggery, snail and grasscutter farming, as well as cash crop production.
The Catholic Bishop of Ekwulobia Diocese, His Eminence Cardinal Peter Ebele Okpaleke, expressed gratitude to Ukachukwu for gracing the programme and identifying with the church’s initiatives.
