The All Progressives Congress (APC) has formally welcomed the Governor of Enugu State, His Excellency Dr. Peter Mbah, alongside other leaders, members, and stakeholders, into its fold, describing the move as a significant political development for the South-East region and the nation at large.
According to a press statement signed by Felix Morka, CON, National Publicity Secretary of the APC, the party congratulated Governor Mbah for his “courageous decision” to join what it described as Nigeria’s preeminent and progressive political family. The statement noted that Governor Mbah’s defection would consolidate and accelerate development and good governance in Enugu State, while further enhancing his impressive leadership record.
The APC lauded the governor’s achievements, particularly his recognition at the 2025 Presidential GovTech Awards for innovation and technology-driven public service delivery. It added that his alignment with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda reflects a strategic repositioning of Enugu State as a vital partner in the ongoing national economic transformation.
The statement assured Governor Mbah and other new entrants of the party’s full support, accommodation, and seamless integration into the APC family, expressing optimism that the move would benefit the people of Enugu State and the entire South-East.
Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, a lawyer, entrepreneur, and technocrat, was elected Governor of Enugu State in 2023. Before now, he was a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and has been widely regarded for his innovative governance approach and commitment to public sector reforms.
