The Anambra State gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the forthcoming November 8 election, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, ignited renewed hope in Nnewi when he visited the Catholic Women Organization (CWO) of Our Lady of Assumpta Cathedral, Okwuani, where he delivered an inspiring message of transformation and people-centred governance.
Arriving to a warm and spirited reception, Ukachukwu was hailed by the women who thronged the parish grounds to hear from the man many have described as a visionary leader with the will and experience to reposition Anambra. In his address, he spoke passionately about his mission to rebuild the state through what he called “a government of integrity, inclusion, and impact.”
“I am not in this race for self; I am here to serve — to restore dignity to governance and give our people the leadership they truly deserve,” Ukachukwu declared, outlining bold plans to overhaul education, healthcare, infrastructure, and the economy. He promised a new dawn for Anambra, where opportunity will replace despair and where competence, not connection, will drive public service.
He further emphasized women’s central role in development, assuring that under his administration, they would no longer be relegated to the background. “Women are the backbone of every family and every community,” he said. “We cannot build a new Anambra without empowering our mothers, sisters, and daughters to lead, to innovate, and to prosper.”
The CWO members, moved by his sincerity and clarity of purpose, applauded his commitment to inclusive governance and community upliftment. Many expressed confidence that his vision represents a turning point for the state, describing him as “a man with both heart and capacity.”
Offering prayers for him, the CWO Chaplain, Rev. Fr. Dr. Patrick Ezefunamba, commended Ukachukwu’s humility and courage, asking God to grant him wisdom, strength, and victory in the coming election.
The visit was seen as a major boost to Ukachukwu’s campaign, deepening his bond with faith-based groups and reinforcing his image as a candidate driven by conviction, compassion, and competence. For many at the event, his message was unmistakable — that Anambra’s rebirth is possible, and the time for it is now.
