By Nnedinma Michael

The people of Omor and Anaku communities in Ayamelum Local Government Area of Anambra North Senatorial District, on Friday, rolled out a warm reception for the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, who visited the area as part of his ongoing statewide consultation and campaign tour.
Addressing the crowd of enthusiastic supporters, Ukachukwu, popularly known as Ikukuoma, outlined his comprehensive development agenda for the communities, assuring them of a government anchored on security, agricultural revival, industrialisation, and youth empowerment if elected governor. He reiterated his resolve to ensure steady power supply through the Omasi Power Plant project, which he said would guarantee 24-hour electricity for Ayamelum and its environs.
The APC standard-bearer also pledged to establish a university that would offer scholarship opportunities to indigent students, embark on aggressive road construction across rural communities, and create employment through an industrial park that would harness the area’s agricultural potential. He further promised to prioritise farm security and end the recurrent menace of herdsmen attacks on farmlands in the zone.
According to Ukachukwu, Anambra’s full economic recovery would depend on building a productive system that integrates agriculture, energy, education, and industrial development into one sustainable chain. He described Ayamelum as a key agricultural hub that deserves special attention to unlock its economic potential and uplift the living standard of its people.
In their separate remarks, prominent party leaders including Ikechukwu Maduka Nwannebuife, APC stalwart; Hon. John Anigbogu Icheke, former Deputy Chairman of Ayamelum; and Eziagulu Offodile, former Chairman of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), lauded Ukachukwu’s vision, urging residents to rally behind him in the November 8, 2025 governorship election. They maintained that Ayamelum had suffered years of neglect under successive governments and deserved a leader with the sincerity and capacity to deliver on promises.
“We are not comfortable with the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) government anymore. We have been forgotten for too long and our roads are in deplorable condition. Ikukuoma is a man of his word, and we believe in his promise to restore hope and development to Ayamelum. The time of deceit is over; a new era has begun,” they declared.
Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, a philanthropist and real estate developer, has continued to expand his grassroots appeal across Anambra State, with his campaign anchored on rebuilding critical infrastructure, empowering youths, and restoring the state’s reputation as a hub of commerce, education, and enterprise.
