High Chief Martin Nwabueze has been honoured with an Award of Merit by the Officers’ Mess of the 302 Artillery Regiment, Onitsha, in recognition of his steady support and contributions to the growth of the institution.
The Commander of the Regiment, Col. B. M. Yakubu, presented the award at the Onitsha Cantonment and praised High Chief Nwabueze as a man whose generosity, wisdom and commitment to humanity continue to uplift institutions and individuals. The Commander noted that the honour reflects the High Chief’s consistent role in the ongoing transformation of the Officers’ Mess, including infrastructural support and advocacy for the welfare of military personnel. He described the award as a celebration of service, patriotism and human capital development.
The Secretary of the Foundation, Chief Sunday Anene, received the award on behalf of High Chief Nwabueze and expressed gratitude to the Command for the recognition. He said the honour serves as a strong encouragement for continued service and affirmed the High Chief’s commitment to supporting institutions that promote discipline, national unity and community development.
High Chief Martin Nwabueze, also known as Ichie Akubudike, has built a reputation for philanthropy, leadership and investment in people across Anambra communities. The recognition from the Regiment adds to his growing list of civic contributions and further underscores his influence in community and national development.
