President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated the President of the Senate, Senator Godswill Akpabio, on his 63rd birthday, describing him as a patriot and a steadfast public servant whose commitment to national development has shown clearly across every office he has occupied. According to Tinubu, Senator Akpabio has displayed uncommon dedication to the service of Nigeria and continues to demonstrate the courage and discipline needed for leadership at a challenging time in the country’s history.

The President joined family members, associates, friends, and lawmakers to celebrate the Senate President, noting that his rise in public life has been marked by decades of visible contributions to governance. According to Tinubu, Akpabio’s years as governor of Akwa Ibom State brought a level of transformation that moved the state forward, with landmark projects, expanded infrastructure, and the construction of one of Nigeria’s most iconic sports stadiums, which still stands out as a national point of pride.

From the Akwa Ibom Government House to the Senate and later to the Federal Executive Council as Minister of the Niger Delta, Akpabio kept a clear focus on regional development. According to Tinubu, his time in the ministry showed his priority for the Niger Delta’s growth and his belief in the region’s capacity to contribute more meaningfully to national progress.

President Tinubu also commended the Senate President’s role in strengthening cooperation between the executive and the legislature. According to Tinubu, Akpabio’s leadership of the 10th National Assembly has continued to promote stability, deepen national development efforts, and support policies aimed at improving security and economic reforms.

The President described Akpabio as a co-labourer in the quest to build a stronger nation, adding that his resilience, calmness under pressure, and unwavering belief in Nigeria have continued to inspire confidence. Tinubu said he rejoices with the Senate President on his 63rd birthday and prayed for good health, strength, and sustained impact in leadership.

Senator Akpabio, a former governor, minister, and now President of the Senate, is a prominent figure in national politics whose influence cuts across governance, public policy, and legislative affairs.
