Barrister Sly Ezeokenwa, National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), celebrated his birthday on Wednesday, 21st January, 2025, with a gathering that brought together political leaders, government officials, traditional rulers, sports figures, and supporters from across Anambra State and beyond. The event, held at Stanel Dome in Awka, began with a thanksgiving mass led by Most Reverend Paulinus Ezeokafor, Catholic Bishop of Awka Diocese, before transitioning into a reception featuring music, choir performances, and a wide array of local and international delicacies.
Among the attendees, government officials included Professor Solo Chukwulobelu, Secretary to the Government of Anambra State; Honourable Dr Law Mefor, Commissioner for Information; Honourable Ernest Ezeajughi, Chief of Staff to the Governor; and members of the Anambra State House of Assembly, including Honourable Innocent Ojike, Honourable Ike Iyiegbu, Honourable Obinna Emenaka, and the Speaker, Rt Honourable Somtochukwu Udeze.
Prominent APGA leaders and political figures were also present, including Honourable Lilian Orogbu, Honourable Ifeanyi Ibezim, Honourable Maureen Gwacham, and Senator Emmanuel C. Nwachukwu. The celebration drew traditional and community leaders such as High Chief Dr Azubuike Austin Ekweozor (Ide Umuawulu) and Archbishop Dr Onyeka Nzekwesi, founder of Jesus Is Alive Ministry and CEO of Pineleaf Estate. The sports sector was represented by General Chikelue Iloenyosi, Chairman of the Anambra State Football Association and former international footballer.
APGA members and aspirants, including Honourable Dr Eze Onyebuchi Chukwu (Delaw), APGA candidate for the Awka Municipal Area Council chairmanship, attended the event, reflecting the party’s commitment to unity and mentorship across generations.
Barrister Ezeokenwa expressed gratitude to the attendees for their support and reiterated his commitment to fostering unity within APGA, leading with integrity, and ensuring the party remains responsive to the aspirations of Nigerians. The birthday celebration, marked by dialogue, music, and a shared sense of community, highlighted Ezeokenwa’s influence across political, civic, and traditional spheres in Anambra State.
