Hon. Ferdinand Dozie Nwankwo, popularly known as Onye Ndozi, on Friday joined family members, friends, and sympathisers of Sir Okey Nwude at a requiem mass held in honour of his late mother, Mrs. Benedicta Adaeke Nwude, who passed away at the age of 83.
According to a statement by FDN Media, the event drew relatives and well-wishers who gathered to pay their final respects and offer prayers for the peaceful repose of the deceased, whose life was described as one rooted in humility, family devotion, and quiet influence within Abagana community.

In his condolence message, Onye Ndozi described the passing of Mrs. Nwude as a profound loss not only to her immediate family but also to the entire Abagana community. He eulogised her as a virtuous woman whose commitment to the upbringing of her children laid a strong foundation for their success in life.
He prayed for the peaceful repose of her soul and for strength for the bereaved family to bear the loss. It is my prayer that God Almighty, in His infinite mercy, forgives her shortcomings and grants her eternal rest in His bosom. May He also grant you, your siblings, and the entire Nwude family of Abagana the fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss, he said.
In response, Sir Okey Nwude expressed appreciation to Onye Ndozi for the visit and solidarity, describing him as a steadfast brother and ally who has consistently stood by him in moments of need. He also thanked members of the Onye Ndozi Political Family for their support during the period of mourning.
The requiem mass forms part of the ongoing funeral rites for the late Mrs. Benedicta Nwude.
