The All Progressives Congress (APC) has released its timetable and schedule of activities for the 2027 general elections, outlining a series of steps expected to guide the party’s internal processes in the build-up to the polls.
The development was announced in Abuja, where the party set out a comprehensive framework covering major pre-election activities. These include the commencement and duration for the sale of nomination and expression of interest forms, timelines for the screening of aspirants, the window for the submission and consideration of appeals, as well as the conduct of primary elections across various offices.
According to a press statement signed by Felix Morka, National Publicity Secretary of the party, the release of the timetable is aimed at ensuring early coordination of activities and providing clarity for party members and aspirants seeking elective positions under its platform.
The schedule of activities, signed by the party’s National Organizing Secretary, Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu, provides detailed guidance on the sequence and timing of each stage of the process, with an emphasis on orderliness and compliance with party guidelines. It is expected to serve as a working document for officials at national and state levels, as well as aspirants preparing to participate in the primaries.
The party said the outlined timetable reflects its commitment to strengthening internal democracy, adding that adherence to clearly defined procedures would help promote fairness, transparency, and credibility throughout the nomination process. It noted that the inclusion of screening and appeal windows is intended to address concerns that may arise and ensure that due process is followed at every stage.
The APC further reassured members and stakeholders that it remains committed to conducting credible and transparent primary elections, expressing confidence that the process will produce candidates capable of representing the party effectively in the 2027 general elections.
