ipNX Nigeria Limited has reaffirmed its commitment to advancing Nigeria’s broadband penetration following a courtesy visit by its top management team to the Board Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, Idris Olorunnimbe.
The engagement, coming in the wake of Olorunnimbe’s recent appointment, provided an avenue for both parties to align expectations and deepen collaboration between the regulator and one of the country’s key broadband infrastructure providers, with a shared focus on accelerating digital connectivity across Nigeria.
Leading the delegation, Group Managing Director of ipNX, Ejovi Aror, said the visit underscored the company’s readiness to work closely with the Commission in driving the Federal Government’s broadband agenda. He noted that sustained regulatory support and industry cooperation remain critical to expanding high-speed internet access, particularly in underserved communities where connectivity gaps continue to limit economic and social opportunities.
Aror pointed to the growing importance of reliable broadband infrastructure in powering education, healthcare delivery, enterprise development and innovation, adding that ipNX remains committed to investing in network expansion and service quality to meet rising demand across the country.
He further emphasised the need for a stable and forward-looking regulatory environment that encourages long-term investment, protects industry players, and fosters healthy competition capable of delivering affordable services to Nigerians.
In his response, Olorunnimbe welcomed the delegation and acknowledged the role of private sector operators such as ipNX in shaping the country’s telecommunications landscape. He reassured that the Commission would continue to strengthen policies that support infrastructure development, expand access, and create a more inclusive digital ecosystem.
The NCC Board Chairman stressed that achieving Nigeria’s broadband targets requires sustained collaboration among stakeholders, noting that the Commission remains committed to bridging the digital divide by encouraging investments that extend services to rural and hard-to-reach areas.
Discussions during the visit also touched on key industry challenges, including right-of-way constraints, infrastructure protection, and the need for coordinated policy implementation across different levels of government to ease network deployment.
Both parties expressed optimism that closer engagement between regulators and operators would help unlock new opportunities within Nigeria’s digital economy, improve service delivery, and position the country for greater competitiveness in the global technology space.
