“Our Mission Is Clear,” Says Omo-Agege After APC Senate Screening

Former Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Augustine Omo-Agege, has reaffirmed his commitment to the people of Delta Central and the advancement of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general election following his appearance before the party’s Senate screening committee in Abuja.
Omo-Agege appeared before the APC Screening Committee for Senate aspirants at the Abuja Continental Hotel, formerly Sheraton, as part of the party’s internal process for the forthcoming elections.
According to a statement issued and signed by the respected political figure, the screening exercise was conducted in an orderly and transparent manner in line with the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Electoral Act 2022 as amended, and the guidelines of the APC.
Speaking on the exercise, Omo-Agege said, “Today, I appeared before the All Progressives Congress Screening Committee for Senate aspirants at the Abuja Continental Hotel, formerly Sheraton. The process was thorough and well-organized, conducted in line with the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Electoral Act 2022 as amended, and the guidelines of our party.”
He commended members of the screening committee for what he described as their professionalism and dedication throughout the exercise.
“I thank the Screening Committee for its professionalism and dedication. I also appreciate the leadership and members of the APC for their steadfast support and prayers,” he stated.
The former Senate Deputy President stated that he remained confident in his record of public service and his capacity to continue contributing meaningfully to governance and development in Delta State and the country at large.
“I am confident in my record of service and remain committed to advancing the Renewed Hope agenda of His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, in partnership with His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori, Governor of Delta State,” he said.
Omo-Agege further stated that he was optimistic about the outcome of the screening process and expressed confidence in the APC’s chances in Delta State during the 2027 elections.
“I look forward to the outcome of the screening. I will continue working with our party to secure victory for the APC in Delta Central and across Delta State in the 2027 general election,” he added.
The former lawmaker maintained that his political mission remains focused on ensuring quality representation and practical development for the people of Delta Central Senatorial District.
“Our mission is clear: to give the people of Delta Central representation that is accessible, responsive, and dedicated to real development,” he stated.
Senator Ovie Omo-Agege served as Deputy President of the 9th Senate and contested for governorship position of Delta state in 2023. He is one of the leading political figures in Delta State, the Niger Delta region and Nigeria.
