African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) has won two prestigious honours at the 2026 International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Gold Quill Awards, further strengthening its reputation for excellence in corporate and strategic communications.
The Bank received an Award of Excellence in the Special and Experiential Events category for the successful organisation of the Intra-African Trade Fair 2025 (IATF2025) held in Algiers, Algeria. The trade fair brought together policymakers, business leaders, investors and development partners from across Africa and other parts of the world to promote trade, investment and economic cooperation on the continent.
Afreximbank also earned an Award of Excellence in the Social Media category in recognition of its digital communication efforts, which have helped showcase the Bank’s programmes, initiatives and impact across Africa and the Caribbean.
The awards were presented under the IABC Gold Quill Awards programme, a globally recognised platform that honours outstanding achievements in strategic communication and public engagement. The awards attract entries from organisations and communication professionals across various sectors and are judged on the basis of planning, execution, creativity and results.
Commenting on the achievement, the Bank said the recognition reflects its commitment to effective communication and stakeholder engagement in support of its broader mandate of advancing trade and economic development.
The Bank noted that communication remains a vital tool in driving awareness of its interventions and in fostering stronger relationships with governments, businesses, development institutions and other stakeholders across its member countries.
The latest honours add to Afreximbank’s growing record of international recognition as it continues to play a leading role in promoting trade finance, industrial development, regional integration and investment across Africa and the Caribbean.
Established to support and expand intra-African and extra-African trade, Afreximbank has become one of the continent’s foremost multilateral financial institutions, providing financing and support for projects aimed at accelerating economic growth and strengthening regional cooperation.
