President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima have formally submitted their completed presidential nomination forms to the All Progressives Congress (APC), advancing their bid to seek another mandate in the 2027 presidential election.
The nomination forms were officially received on Saturday by the APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, during a ceremony at the party’s National Secretariat in Abuja.
President Tinubu was represented by his Special Adviser on Political and Other Matters, Hon. Ibrahim Masari, who presented the nomination documents on behalf of both the President and the Vice President.
The event attracted a large gathering of party leaders and government officials, underscoring the significance the APC attached to the exercise. Among those in attendance were governors elected on the platform of the party, led by the Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum and Governor of Imo State, Senator Hope Uzodimma.
Also present were members of the APC National Working Committee, principal officers and lawmakers of the National Assembly, members of the Federal Executive Council, former governors, state party chairmen, youth and women leaders, and other senior stakeholders from across the country.
Receiving the nomination forms, Prof. Yilwatda commended the President and the Vice President for completing the party’s nomination process and reaffirmed the APC’s commitment to conducting its affairs in line with its constitution and established procedures.
The submission of the forms is a key requirement for aspirants seeking the party’s presidential ticket. It follows the purchase and completion of the nomination documents and comes ahead of the party’s presidential primary in accordance with its approved timetable.
The ceremony also reflected the party’s growing momentum ahead of the 2027 elections, following the endorsement of President Tinubu for a second term by APC leaders and governors, with Vice President Shettima retained as his running mate.
The submission of the nomination forms completes another stage in the APC’s nomination process as the ruling party continues preparations for the 2027 presidential election.
