The Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) has felicitated with Muslims across Nigeria on the occasion of Eid Maulud, urging them to reflect on the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and embrace values that promote peace, compassion, service to humanity and national unity.
The commission conveyed the message in a post on its official Facebook page on Tuesday as Muslims across the country marked the birth of the Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
The NCC urged Muslim faithful to use the occasion to reflect on the virtues demonstrated by the Prophet, particularly his commitment to peace, compassion and service to humanity, saying these values remained important to building a united and progressive society.
According to the commission, the lessons of the Maulud celebration should extend beyond the religious observance and encourage Nigerians to promote peaceful coexistence, mutual respect and concern for one another.
“May the virtues of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), peace, compassion and service to humanity, inspire unity and national progress,” the NCC said.
The commission also extended its best wishes to Muslim faithful across the country as they commemorate the birth of Prophet Muhammad (SAW), while calling for the values associated with the occasion to be reflected in the conduct of citizens.
It stressed the importance of unity and peaceful coexistence among Nigerians, noting that a society founded on compassion, understanding and service to humanity would be better positioned to achieve meaningful national progress.
The NCC further reiterated its commitment to promoting a connected Nigeria, encouraging citizens to uphold values capable of strengthening relationships and fostering unity across religious, ethnic and social divides.
The commission’s message comes as Muslims in Nigeria join millions of faithful around the world in commemorating Eid Maulud, an occasion that provides an opportunity for reflection on the teachings, character and example of Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
The NCC called on Nigerians to draw from the virtues associated with the celebration in their daily lives and contribute to a more peaceful, compassionate and united nation.
