Aquafina, the premium bottled water brand from the stable of Seven-Up Bottling Company (SBC), has announced its support for the fifth edition of Cycling Lagos, scheduled to hold on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.
The partnership will see Aquafina provide hydration support for cyclists and other participants at strategic points along the event route, while the company will also provide financial support towards the successful staging of the cycling event.
Marketing Manager, Energy and Hydration, Seven-Up Bottling Company, Omokehinde Thomas, said Aquafina would establish hydration points at the starting and finishing areas, as well as along designated sections of the cycling route, including the Coastal Road.
Thomas said participants would have access to Aquafina water at the designated points throughout the event, providing cyclists with needed hydration as they make their way through the various routes.
The support from SBC comes as the fifth Cycling Lagos receives backing from a growing number of corporate organisations. Adron Homes, Golden Penny Foods, Checkers Custard, Union Bank of Nigeria Plc and AIICO Multishield have also confirmed their support for the event.
President and Chief Executive Officer of Cycling Africa Limited, Bamidele Adeleye, said the growing participation of leading brands was an indication of increasing private sector recognition of cycling as a platform for wellness, sustainable transportation, environmental responsibility and meaningful brand engagement.

Adeleye expressed appreciation to SBC, Adron Homes, Golden Penny Foods and other partners for identifying with the initiative and contributing to its growth.
He also highlighted the success of the fifth Cycling Lagos Webinar held on Thursday, September 3, 2026, where experts discussed practical approaches to waste management and the expansion of recycling capacity in Lagos and Nigeria.

According to Adeleye, Cycling Lagos, organised annually by Cycling Africa Limited in collaboration with the Lagos State Cycling Association, has reached its fifth edition with a continued focus on cycling, healthy living, road safety, environmental sustainability and youth participation in sports.
He said the organisers were committed to providing a safe, inclusive and engaging experience for participants, adding that relevant stakeholders and support agencies would be involved in traffic management, security, medical support and the overall coordination of the event.
The 2026 edition is themed, “TRASH TO TREASURE: Unlocking Recycling Capacity for a Sustainable Future,” reflecting the organisers’ effort to use cycling as a platform to promote environmental consciousness and draw attention to the economic value of recycling.
The theme is also aimed at changing the way Nigerians perceive waste by encouraging them to see discarded materials not merely as environmental nuisances but as resources that can be recovered, recycled and converted into economic opportunities.
The grand finale will feature several categories, including the Children’s Race, Celebrity Race and competitive cycling activities. Cyclists are expected to pass through designated routes across Lagos before returning to the National Stadium, Surulere, for the concluding activities.
The fifth Cycling Lagos is expected to attract cyclists, cycling clubs, sports enthusiasts, families and other participants from Lagos and different parts of Nigeria.
The organisers said the event would further strengthen the culture of cycling and highlight its potential as a healthy, environmentally friendly and sustainable means of transportation.
