The APGA candidate for Orumba North and South Federal Constituency in the 2027 general election, Dr Odiraa Nwankwor, has called for unity, purposeful collaboration and people-oriented representation as the party prepares for the forthcoming elections.
Nwankwor made the call at a grand banquet for APGA candidates and stakeholders held at the Oru of Orumba Villa in Umunze, Orumba South Local Government Area of Anambra State.
The banquet, hosted by the Regent of Umunze and Oru I of Orumba, His Majesty, Chief Engr. Arinze Onwuzuruize, brought together the APGA National Chairman, Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa; Chief of Staff to the Governor, Rt. Hon. Dr Ben Nwankwo; APGA candidate for Anambra South Senatorial District, Senator Emma Nwachukwu; APGA candidate for Orumba South State Constituency, Hon. Sir Stan Nnaka, as well as other party leaders, candidates and stakeholders.
Also at the gathering were the Mayor of Orumba South LGA, Hon. Shedrack Azubike; Deputy Mayor, Hon. Mrs Kate Ibeorji; Secretary of Orumba South Council, Hon. Rev. Chinedu Onyeachor; APGA State Youth Leader, Dr Obiadi; APGA Chairman, Orumba South, Hon. Chike Nwafor; National Coordinator, APGA Apostles, Hon. Anthony Dunga; Honourable Member representing Orumba South Constituency, Hon. Emma Nwafor (Ntu Japan); former Commissioner of Agriculture, Dr Foster Ihejiofor; Urban Regeneration Director, Hon. Mike Okonkwo; SSA to the Governor on Political Mobilisation, Hon. Jude Umunnakwe; and Hon. Obinna Nwankwo.
Others included former Mayor of Orumba South, Hon. Neville Uchendu; Director-General of Senator Emma Nwachukwu Campaign Organisation, Hon. Cyprian Okereke; Director-General of Dr Odiraa Nwankwor Campaign Organisation, Hon. Chris Amah; Chief Promise Ike (Onyendozi Orumba); Amb. David Ndubuisi Ewenike; Hon. Sir Chukwudi Ugochukwu (Omeudo Orumba); councilors, ward chairmen, women leaders and political appointees.
Speaking on the significance of the occasion, Nwankwor expressed appreciation to Chief Arinze Onwuzuruize for bringing APGA candidates and stakeholders together in an atmosphere of warmth, hospitality and mutual understanding.
He described the banquet as an opportunity for party leaders and candidates to strengthen their relationships and work together towards the success of APGA in the 2027 general election.
Nwankwor stressed the importance of unity of purpose, mutual respect and peaceful political engagement among members of the APGA family.
According to him, the progress of Anambra South Senatorial District and, particularly, Orumba North and South Federal Constituency, requires purposeful synergy, effective collaboration and a shared commitment to the interests of the people.
The federal constituency candidate also outlined his five-point agenda for the Green Chamber, identifying agriculture, healthcare, education, information and communication technology (ICT), and environmental control as key areas of focus.
He said people-oriented representation must remain connected to the people, their values and their collective aspirations, stressing that his legislative agenda would focus on issues capable of making a practical difference in the lives of constituents.
The Oru of Orumba, in his remarks, explained that the gathering was organised for two major reasons: to appreciate APGA stakeholders for their support for the recent re-election of the Mayor of Orumba South, Hon. Shedrack N. Azubike, for a second tenure, and to mobilise their support for all APGA candidates in the 2027 general election.
He urged the stakeholders to work together to secure victory for the party’s candidates contesting the State House of Assembly, House of Representatives and Senate elections.
In their respective remarks, the APGA candidate for Anambra South Senatorial District, Senator Emma Nwachukwu (Onodugo Ukpor), and the APGA candidate for Orumba South State Constituency, Hon. Sir Stan Nnaka (Nzechinyereugo Ogboji), expressed appreciation to the Oru of Orumba for his sustained support and commitment to the party.
They appealed for unity of purpose and collective commitment among APGA members and stakeholders ahead of the 2027 general election.
The Chief of Staff to the Governor, Rt. Hon. Dr Ben Nwankwo (Isingidi Akpu la Orumba); National Chairman of APGA, Barr. Sly Ezeokenwa (Ifemba Aguata); Honourable Member representing Orumba South State Constituency, Hon. Emma Nwafor (Ntu Japan); immediate past Commissioner of Agriculture, Dr Foster Ihejiofor (Omereora Orumba); and Director of Urban Regeneration, Arch. Mike Okonkwo (Ugochinyere Orumba), also called for total commitment to APGA candidates.
They urged party members to avoid divided political loyalty and work for the success of APGA candidates in the 2027 polls.
The speakers also commended the Oru of Orumba for his support for the party and his commitment to its growth, describing him as a statesman and leader worthy of emulation.
A major highlight of the gathering was the entrance of Ugochukwu Ike (More Money), Chief Austin Malire and Chief Nnamdi Ihedi into the APGA family.
The Umunze banquet brought together APGA leaders, candidates and stakeholders in a show of solidarity and shared commitment ahead of the 2027 general election, with renewed calls for unity and support for the party’s candidates.
