The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Council, has praised the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) and its Chinese partners for promoting Nigeria-China relations through the Ni Hao China radio programme.
The NUJ FCT Chairman, Comrade Grace Ike, gave the commendation during a goodwill message at an event marking 456 days of the programme, which promotes Chinese language learning and cultural exchange between Nigerians and Chinese nationals.
Ike said the partnership had provided an opportunity for Nigerians to learn about Chinese language and culture while gaining a better understanding of the country and its people.
She commended FRCN, the Chinese Embassy and other partners for sustaining the programme, noting that the media had an important role to play in bringing people of different nationalities closer.
The NUJ FCT chairman encouraged the organisers to sustain the initiative and reach more Nigerians, particularly young people interested in learning Chinese and understanding the country’s culture.
The Ni Hao China programme brings Chinese language lessons and cultural information to Nigerian radio audiences through the partnership between FRCN and the Chinese Embassy in Nigeria.
