Ogah Inaugurates 2027 Campaign Council, Vows Labour Party Landslide in Abia

By George Ozalla

The member representing Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency of Abia State in the House of Representatives, Hon. Amobi Godwin Ogah, has inaugurated his 2027 re-election campaign council, declaring that the Labour Party is poised for a sweeping victory in the state.

Ogah inaugurated the campaign council on Saturday, October 31, at his country home in Onuaku, Uturu, Isuikwuato Local Government Area, with directors, local government coordinators and ward-level campaign officials drawn from across the constituency.

Addressing members of the council, the lawmaker charged them to demonstrate commitment, discipline and loyalty to the Labour Party, insisting that his re-election campaign must also support other party candidates contesting the governorship, senatorial, House of Representatives and State House of Assembly elections.

He warned that anyone unwilling to support the party’s other candidates should withdraw from his campaign team.

“If you are going to vote for me and refuse to vote for other Labour Party candidates, our governorship, senatorial, and state House of Assembly candidates, please leave my campaign team right now,” Ogah declared.

He maintained that the party must work towards a complete 4-0 victory in the 2027 elections, stressing that his supporters must embrace the collective interest of the Labour Party rather than pursue individual political ambitions.

“What happened in the 2023 elections is small; in 2027, it will be a tsunami. The Labour Party will win everything,” he stated.

The federal lawmaker also made a strong case for equity in the political representation of Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency, arguing that Isuikwuato deserves another opportunity to produce the representative following what he described as Umunneochi’s four consecutive terms in the House of Representatives through his major political opponent.

Ogah, who expressed confidence in his chances of securing re-election, attributed his optimism to the developmental projects and interventions he said had been recorded in the constituency during his first term.

He also endorsed the senatorial aspiration of Labour Party candidate for Abia North, Chief Dr. David Ogba Onuoha, popularly known as Bourdex, urging voters to give him an opportunity to serve.

“Let’s give Bourdex a chance so that he can prove himself. If I didn’t get a chance, would you have known that I would do better? If Governor Alex Otti didn’t get a chance, would we have been enjoying what we are enjoying today?” he asked.

Party leaders at the inauguration, including the Isuikwuato LGA Campaign Coordinator, Hon. Emmanuel Okorokwo; Isuikwuato LGA Labour Party Chairman, Hon. Harrison Onuke; and Umunneochi LGA Labour Party Chairman, Dr. Jude Uche Onwuhanze, charged the campaign council to mobilise support across the constituency.

Responding on behalf of the council, its Deputy Chairman, Sir Billy Achara, thanked Ogah for the confidence reposed in the members and pledged that the team would adopt door-to-door and house-to-house mobilisation strategies.
