Former federal lawmaker, Rt. Hon. Sam Ifeanyi Onuigbo, has officially submitted his nomination and expression of interest forms to contest for the Abia Central Senatorial seat under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Speaking after the submission, Onuigbo described the move as the beginning of another mission to serve the people of Abia Central, adding that he had completed all required processes across the six local government areas in the district.
“The next now is screening and the primary election, and by the grace of God we will move to the general election,” he said.
The former lawmaker, who noted that he remains the only person re-elected in his federal constituency, expressed confidence in his chances, insisting that his performance record remains his strongest campaign message.
“I have represented my people two times and I’m the only one re-elected in that constituency. My record and verifiable evidence speak for me, not just promises,” Onuigbo declared.
He also reassured supporters that his leadership style, anchored on what he described as “EAR” Effectiveness, Accessibility and Responsiveness and would remain unchanged, with greater improvements if elected to the Senate.
